FARMERS’ MARKET on CHERRY STREET: Sat., May 18

Spring has definitely sprung, and our farmers have a bounty of produce for you to enjoy: we will have arugula, asparagus, beets, broccoli, carrots, chard, garlic, green beans, greens, herbs, kohlrabi, lettuce, onions, peas, potatoes, radishes, spinach, summer squash, salad mix, turnips, pea shoots, sunflower shoots, microgreens, and of course, those jewels of spring, strawberries.
We will also have a number of animal products at market, from beef and lamb to chicken, eggs, and honey.  Don’t forget to pick up your dairy products, as well; there will be not only cheese and milk but also yogurt, creme fraiche, ricotta, and butter for your ‘fridge.
Prepared foods are always also available, too: jams, syrups, salsa, pies, and snow cones are some of the products on hand this week.Don’t forget about your own gardens, as well, and get some transplants, potted plants, and terrariums to enjoy.  Lots of beautiful cut flowers will be available, too.  Other items the market has to offer include soaps, lotions, bath salts, lip balm, and yarn.  The Cherry Street Farmers’ Market truly has something for everyone!  Come join us!

Gold Standard Honey will be at the market this weekend with our Honeydew Honey. This honey was foraged in part from the hardwood sap from last summer. This honey has a higher mineral content and higher antibiotic qualities that blossom honey and has darker more complex tones than your run of the mill honey. Come by and have a taste.

Canyon Ridge Farms will be at both the Brookside and Cherry Street markets this week with GOAT CHEESE and Goat Milk. Be sure to stop by for free cheese samples. Pie Tonight will be bringing our half-moon pies again this week. You don’t need a fork and plate or to try to balance it on your knee; just open it up and enjoy. Half-moons will include strawberry/rhubarb, peach, apple, and the ever popular dark sweet cherry. We also will be bringing gluten-free small pies, gluten-free breads and cakes.
