Know Your Market

The Cherry Street Farmers’ Market Association (CSFMA) was established in 1998 as an effort to develop a local food market in Tulsa. The mission of the market is to provide Oklahoma growers the opportunity to market their agricultural products directly to the local community. As a 501(c)4 non-profit entity, CSFMA is operated almost exclusively by dedicated volunteers and board members to ensure its ongoing success.  A Market Manager, Assistant Manager, and Project Coordinator assist on a part-time, contract basis to fulfill the week-to-week market logistics of serving an estimated 2,000 Tulsans with fresh, local produce each week during market season.

Over the past fourteen years, the Cherry Street Farmers’ Market (CSFM) has grown in size, scope, and popularity to become one of the largest farmers’ markets in Oklahoma.  Starting with few vendors and a small group of supporters, the market has grown to accommodate thousands of weekly visitors.  The rise in demand for local, sustainable products has resulted in the creation of both a Wednesday and a Saturday market that operates at two separate Tulsa locations, Brookside and Cherry Street, each week. The markets provide a venue to foster economic prosperity for more than 85+ farmers and vendors from across Green Country.
